Claire Kat Erickson is a multidisciplinary artist working in embroidery, video art, pottery, sculpture and specializes in painting. She is also currently working as the Creative Director for Hinterland Brewery. You may have seen her featured on the cover of Door County Magazine or in the Door County Pulse. In 2021, her work was shown at The Miller Art Museum, Somi Gallery, and The Trout Museum.
Portraits are Claire’s focal point. “Capturing faces will forever be a major part of my continued study of painting,” says Claire, “for no other reason than I’m obsessed with faces. Half the time, when I meet new people, I’m imagining how I would paint them. So forgive the stares…As an artist I truly believe that representing things in a serious, sarcastic, moving or beautiful way is so necessary, otherwise we’d die of a broken heart.”
